Wrapped Up in Blue + I’ve Been Buying ALL the Bags

I didn’t used to understand wrap coats – why would you want a coat that doesn’t button up the front? But after wearing this Lydia Wool-Blend coat from GUESS – it all makes sense!

Coat: c/o GUESS / Camisole: H&M / Jeans: H&M / Bag: ALDO / Shoes: c/o Nine West

This type of coat is perfect for errand days, when you’re constantly switching
between indoors and outdoors. When I step out of the car, I wrap the
coat around me – and I’m immediately blanketed in warmth. And once I’m
indoors – I just let the coat unwrap and fall open. I don’t overheat –
and I don’t have to keep fastening and unfastening my coat – it’s very
handy!

Now that the temperatures have dropped in Toronto, I’m glad to have this cozy coat to wrap myself in! I also love the oversized cocoon design – the style and length works with both dresses and jeans.

Okay – now on to bag confession time…I’ve been purchasing a LOT
of bags recently – some are guilt-free – like the bags I’ve purchased
during the ALDO sale for $20 – $30 (!!!). I have also made some guilt-inducing
designer purchases – but those will be revealed in another post! Let’s start with this pink top-handle bag from ALDO – it’s heavily inspired by this GUCCI bag – and I love how cheerful and ladylike it looks!

This tapestry bag is “interesting” but I’m obsessed with it. The unlikely combination of the old-fashioned fabric with the jeweled clasp makes it an acquired taste – but for some reason, I want to use it ALL the time! And because I got it during the ALDO clearance sale, I won’t feel guilty about donating it if I ever fall out of love.

I’m not sure if I should keep this bag. While I adore the trendy pink velvet fabric of this Rebecca Minkoff bag, I usually try to spend less than $100 on seasonal items…AND I also own another pink velvet bag (featured in this post). It’s definitely very photogenic though! What do you guys think – is it a keeper?

The white bag in my outfit post was also purchased from ALDO during their sale. I like the contrast of the elegant shape (reminiscent of an Hermes Kelly) with the colorful embroidered patches – it’s a fun bag for sure!

Which of my recent bag purchases do you like the most?

First, I love the color of that coat! It's very pretty and flattering on you…and not something you see every day, which is fun! Second, love your fun bag collection! I really like Aldo bags for the price point. As for your pink velvet RM bag…hm, it is very similar to your other pink bag! For me I couldn't justify two pink velvet bags but maybe you'll use it enough to be worth it? Gina || On the Daily Express

Thank you Gina – you're right – although I love pink bags – I don't think I need 2 velvet ones lol! And yes – the price point of ALDO bags on sale is crazy good! The quality & design are amazing and they sell for half price – I love it!

I'm nodding to everything Gina wrote! I loooove the color of your coat! Looks so chic in that silhouette. I just bought a wrap coat myself from Express that's a salmon color. It's more than enough warmth here in Cali! And the RM bag…I honestly really love it. The velvet looks lux and super soft. But I agree that two pink velvet bags might not be necessary. What about exchanging it for another color? Hard to decide! I'm dying for a velvet skirt, or possibly some pumps 🙂
