Summer 2018 was amazing – I spent it doing the two things I enjoy most: travelling and spending time with my family. There didn’t seem to be a quiet moment – from visiting Muskoka, a multi-generational trip to Montreal, my birthday in the Bahamas, a week with my sister in London, Ontario followed by a week in England visiting hubby’s family (and a day trip to Paris on the Eurostar!)

Before (reluctantly) making the transition over into Fall content, I wanted to share one last summer post. I worked with some of my favourite clothing brands on outfit posts for Instagram – click through to see my outfits from H&M, Ann Taylor, Rachel Sin, Chicwish and EverNew
H&M
I’d been wanting to try the high-waisted, wide-legged striped trouser trend for a while, but this type of trousers are often paired with a cropped top or camisole. After some experimentation – I found a bodysuit was a great alternative. It provided a similar silhouette but gave me the coverage I preferred!

This dress had so many things I love: pink florals, midi length AND sleeves! I wore this on our day trip to Paris – and it was SO easy to wear. I usually stick to jeans when travelling – and was pleasantly surprised that this more photogenic option was comfortable too! I’m going to try wear a lot more dresses this Fall. I usually switch to pants because I get cold easily – but I think with some strategic leggings that I can hide under midi dresses – maybe I can get away with it.

ANN TAYLOR
Ann Taylor has the cutest workwear – and I was so excited to work with them on some travel outfit posts. Yellow was THE colour of the summer – so I was thrilled to find this buttercup yellow tweed jacket. Tweed jackets are so timeless, and I love the ruffled details on this pretty one.

And I couldn’t stop at just one tweed jacket! Of course I needed two – this one has pretty colours for Fall! I tend to stock up on tweed jackets because they’re an instant way to dress up a plain tank + jeans outfit.

RACHEL SIN
I’ve worn Rachel Sin dresses to two fashion week events in the past (here and here), so I was thrilled when Rachel emailed me and asked me to be part of a #DeskToDrinks photoshoot that she was arranging with Chris Smart (@csmartfx) – a famous Canadian streetstyle photographer. I’d never shot streetstyle before, so this was a fun experience – it was fast-paced and completely different from the way we usually photograph outfit for the blog!

CHICWISH
As always, Chicwish clothing plays a huge part in my vacation outfits! Here are some ultra-feminine pieces I picked out recently. I have so much love for this ruffle skirt. While I love a pink tulle skirt – it is definitely stands out a lot (maybe too much for some occasions!) This option is more subtle and versatile. The tulle fabric and pearl embellishments are balanced out by the subdued grey colour – making it easy to style for many events.

Okay, this sweater is more Fall than Summer – but I’ve been eyeing it since last year, so I snapped it up a bit prematurely this year! Chunky, over-sized knits are going strong this Fall – so I’m glad I have this pink option to wear. I’ve paired it with my XXL Monogram Onecklace. This is my second Onecklace – I actually own the exact necklace in gold! I love how it feels so light, but fills in your neckline and makes a statement.

I’m such a fan of tea dresses – floral print midi length dresses with fluttery sleeves. I own several pink ones, including this one – so when I spotted this blue and red version on the Chicwish website, I thought it would be a fun change from my usual colour palette.

EVER NEW
I worked with Ever New in June to put together an outfit to wear to the Queens Plate races. I chose this pretty peach high-low dress, gold strappy heels and embellished clutch. I found the matching fascinator at Necessities Fashion – and now I wish I was invited to more events where fascinators are required – because they’re so pretty! Aside from the races, I think this would also be a cute outfit to wear to a wedding or a garden party.
I hope you liked this wrap up of my summer outfits – which one was your favourite?
