We had so much fun on our weekend away in Muskoka – we managed to find the perfect balance of hanging out, while also creating content for future posts. We packed a LOT of stuff for a 3-day trip, but we ended up using most of it – so we have no regrets!
Since we took a LOT of photos during our trip – we wanted to bring beauty products that were effective and easy to use. We loved the göt2b GLAM FORCE range. The GLAM FORCE High Hold Hairspray reduces frizz, is non-sticky and lasts for 48 hours. This is my new favourite hairspray – I use it ALL the time (it’s what I’m using in this pic too). I’ve previously used L’Oreal Elnett, BigSexyHair hairspray and Pantene Airspray – but those have left my curls either feeling slightly crunchy or greasy. This one has a super fine mist – and provides long-lasting hold, but you honestly can’t even feel it. I can brush my hair out at the end of the night – and my hair feels silky – and is still curled! I’d definitely recommend trying it out – it’s only $7.99. The GLAM FORCE Sculpting Gel provides 24-hour hold – and I plan on using that when I’m wearing my hair in a top-knot bun – so that I don’t have to worry about any flyaways!
We took some outfit shots while we were at the hotel (which you might have seen in this post) and we needed our nails to look nice. We loved using Joe Fresh Gel-Look Nailpolishes – they come in cute little bottles and are very easy to apply. You don’t need a top coat or a base coat, and the formula is very opaque – you only need 1 or 2 layers! These gel-look nailpolishes have a super-glossy finish, just like traditional gel polish – but you don’t need to treat the colour with a UV lamp, and the polish removes easily with regular nail polish remover.

I came to the trip with my nails done, but a couple of the other girls ended up applying polish the night before our outfit photo shoot, since it was such an easy, no-fuss process. There are 8 colours in the Joe Fresh Gel Look Nailpolish 2017 Holiday Collection – a mix of pretty metallics and rich jewel tones. I wore Lover’s Kiss, which is the perfect shade of deep red.
We had plenty of time to lounge in our room – and we were so grateful to La Vie En Rose for sending us these cozy flannel PJs. Of course I chose the pinkest pair I could find – they have llamas printed on them! They’re currently on sale for $20 . We were also gifted adorable over-the-knee socks which we’re wearing in this pic.
We could not have completed our trip without the GMC Yukon XL that we borrowed. It had 3 rows of seating – along with a huge boot with enough space for all of our luggage. Yes – that is 3 full-size suitcases in the trunk! And yes, we ended up using most of what we packed LOL…What can I say – bloggers like to have lots of options! We also made full use of the OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, staying up-to-date on our social media during the 2.5 hour drive to Muskoka. We were also very grateful for the OnStar turn-by-turn navigation – it was reassuring to not have to worry about getting lost, since none of us were that familiar with Muskoka!
