At the end of last year, I asked my Instagram followers what they wanted to see more of on my blog – and the top responses were: seasonal trends, shopping hauls and try-ons. These are all things I LOVE chatting about, and I want to make sure that I’m sharing this content on a regular basis, so I’ve decided to create a monthly series. Each month I’ll go to the mall and share try-on pics of everything that caught my eye. Hope you enjoy our virtual shopping date!
Before sharing this month’s try-on pics, I wanted to quickly talk about my snowy weather must-have: my BOGS snowboots. I’ve been buying BOGS for my kids for ages, as they’re lightweight and suitable for BOTH rain and snow. And now, I’m so happy to finally have my own pair! Classic BOGS consist of a rubber base and a flexible neoprene shaft. They have two handles along the top, which make them easy to pull on and take off. They’re completely waterproof, insulated for up to minus 50 degrees Celsius and designed to wick away moisture and keep your feet warm and dry. I love them because along with being super-warm, they’re also very streamlined and chic…sort of like Hunter Boots for freezing weather! Okay – and now to share my shopping pics – click through to see.
So many cute clothes at H&M! I liked the look of this unlined double-breasted plaid coat – it’s a wool-polyester blend and would work well for Fall/Early Winter/Spring. It also comes in pink and grey.
UGH – so sorry, I can’t find a link to this sweater online…but I bought it in light pink in the Fall, and I’m loving this white version too. Keep an eye out for it in store!
I haven’t shopped much at Abercrombie before, but I went in to track down a pink sequin top (which was completely sold out) and found these comfy casual tops instead! I’ve seen this Colorblock Sherpa Sweatshirt all over my instagram feed, and I can understand why. It’s so soft and cozy – perfect for lounging in!
Another trend I’ve been spotting a lot this cold season are these tie-front Henley tops. They’re soft and loose – and perfect for pairing with jeans or sweatpants. I’m not sure if I want to spend $40 on a lounging top, so I’ve been thinking about ordering this version from Amazon instead.
I tried on some sweaters at J.Crew, but my favourite piece in store was this crisp pink gingham shirt – it also comes in a lot of other pretty colours too! It would be so cute in Spring with white jeans and tan accessories.
AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS
So the lighting in the American Eagle Outfitters changing rooms is SCARY…But I had to visit the store because they make the BEST distressed jeans. Their jeans are thick enough to suck me in, without being too stiff. And they have so many distressing options – you can either go all out (like the pair below) or pick a pair with patches BEHIND the distressing, so no skin shows through (like the pair I’m wearing above).
This was such a fun post to put together – it reminded me of the posts I would write when I first started blogging! Next month I’ll try to set aside more time for this, so I’m able to visit more stores and share more options 🙂
Let me know if there are any specific stores you want me to visit or themes you’d like me to cover!
