Out & About – Spring 2014 Previews #EXPStyle & #PRESSDAYS

Last week was quite busy – although it was freezing outside, my mind was in a different season as 2014 Spring collections were being previewed downtown.

The first event I attended was a cocktail party at the Spoke Club featuring the SS 2014 Express Preview (#EXPStyle).

So excited to meet Real Life Runway – I’d been following her on Instagram for ages! (Photo: Brill Communications)

It was fun catching up with other bloggers as we looked through the new Express collection and made mental shopping lists of our must-haves.

First on my list was this pink and orange leopard scarf – love seeing the classic print reinterpreted in such vibrant colors. The powder blue heels are another wishlist item…I don’t know how often I’d wear them – but they’re just so pretty to look at!

I adored the fringed heels and the gladiator/cage boots – definite statement pieces! There were also lots of pretty options for spring – from nautical stripes to polka dot hearts and dainty lace yokes – I’ll definitely be trying these on in store!

Love their Office Decor! (Photo: Lotus Leaf)

On Tuesday I headed over to Lotus Leaf’s offices to attend their SS14 #PRESSDAYS event.

It’s always nice to be greeted at the door with cupcakes!

I was mesmerized by the watches at the WATCHIT booth. Rose gold and blush pink (my favorite colors!) will continue to be popular in spring, updated with variations such as blush pink leather and acetate wristbands. There is also a return to femininity in watch design, resulting in colorful faces and smaller, more bracelet-like options. How cute is the tiny rose gold Michael Kors watch with the fuschia face?

The Henkaa booth featured so many pretty variations of their Sakura Convertible dress – it’s amazing that one dress can be styled in SO many different ways (shown here).

Hillberg & Berk had a wide range of mermaid-like jewelry with shimmering chains, crystals and semi-precious stones. I especially loved the tiny turquoise accents and the textured metal.

There was a MINKPINK tropical red floral print dress I could not stop thinking about – I feel like I need to take it on my upcoming beach holiday. Meanwhile, everyone on the press tour was cooing over the child-sized DR MARTENS and the mini-satchels – especially the little floral print boots. The MANITOBAH MUKLUKS were more in line with our current weather situation – I don’t think there is anything cozier than wearing a pair of fuzzy warm boots on a frozen winter morning!

As we left the event, we were gifted with mink lashes (from ESQIDO), sparkly stud earrings (from Hillberg & Berk) and gift cards – so thoughtful and perfect for upcoming holiday parties!

I’m so excited that Rose Gold is here to stay! Which Spring trend are you most looking forward to?

What fun events! I'm also glad rose gold is sticking around since I was pretty late adopting that trend. I'd hate for it to already be over. That pink leopard infinity scarf will be in my closet this spring…guaranteed. I noticed Express already had some spring stuff in store today…pastels blues and pinks etc. I'm excited to see the whole collection!
