I’m going away on an overnight trip with my family at the end of this month. With the gorgeous warmer weather we’ve been experiencing, I’ll need to pack light and airy clothes.
I’ve been invited to take part in Walmart’s #LooksforLess challenge – I was given a $100 giftcard and challenged to find trendy Spring pieces to incorporate into my wardrobe. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to buy clothes for my mini-break!
For my day outfit I chose this turquoise and black g:21 maxi dress ($16) paired with a George modal wrap ($12). Both pieces are so soft and lightweight – they feel like lounge wear but look dressy! I added these super comfortable g:21 gladiator sandals ($22) and a long draped George gold chain ($10) with teal and coral accents.
Soooooo… my night outfit may not be what you expected – no heels and a slinky dress here! But this is the reality of my life – I need an outfit for relaxing in the hotel room while cuddling together and watching family movies. The George pink elephant PJs ($13) are 100% cotton, with Spring-appropriate short sleeves to keep me cool, while the Tender Tootsies bedroom slippers ($15) are so soft, flexible and cushioned. The non-slip soles will be especially handy once I return home – I’ll be able to run up and down our wooden stairs without worrying about slipping!
Here’s the breakdown of my shopping total – how did I do? I LOVE shopping challenges – they’re so much fun!
DAY ($60)
g:21 dress – $16
George black wrap – $12
George necklace: $10
g: 21 tan sandals – $22
NIGHT ($28)
George pink elephant pjs -$13 (on sale from $19)
Tender Tootsies Beulla bedroom slippers – $15
TOTAL: $88 plus tax = $99.44
What do you think of my finds? Have you shopped for Spring clothes at Walmart before?

LOVE this. Great idea with the day and night, the PJs are a must. Plus they are super cute.
Thanks – it was fun to use the giftcard for my trip – it's fun to have new clothes when vacationing 🙂
Great job on the challenge! I had to laugh at your "night" wear…so true for most of us!! jodiewww.jtouchofstyle.com
LOL – just keeping it real…PJs are the best 😉
Great deals! And you look gorgeous! Maxi lengths suit you so nicely Zeba. I like the color too.
Thanks Noelle – I was glad to find this dress as it's so light – and although it looks long, it doesn't drag around the ankles. I hate maxi dresses that trip you over ;-P
Wow! I love that two-piece with the contrasting colors! That's the first I've seen like it. Looks great on you!ChristieThe Closet by Christiewww.theclosetbychristie.com
Thanks Christie – it's definitely a unique maxi dress design – I especially love all the turquoise 🙂
Amazing finds! This color of that top looks amazing on you!
Lovely finds! I must say I've never shopped for clothes in Walmarts but I can see that it's worth taking a look. Have a nice day! :)http://memoriesofthepacific.blogspot.com.es/
