2014 started off in my favorite way – surrounded by my dearest family (parents, sister, husband and kids), eating way too much dessert, and lots of hugs and kisses at the stroke of midnight. There is so much I want to achieve in 2014 – but I wanted to start by looking back at all the amazing blog highlights from last year:
Toronto Fashion Week with Maybelline & Redken:
I’ve met so many amazing people through blogging – and interacting with YOU has been the best part of blogging. Thank you to everyone who has read/commented/shared my blog posts – you make blogging SO worthwhile 🙂
A special thank you to:
– Elaine & Mehreen – love that I can turn to you 2 for behind-the-scenes advice anytime I need it. And SO glad we live in the same city and get the chance to hang out in person too!
– Noelle – You inspire me with your style (twinsies!) and I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the time you take to consistently comment on my posts – you really are the best!
– Lilly / Skylette / Schnelle – gorgeous ladies – I love our interactions on blogs and Instagram!
And finally – here’s to my first best friend. Do you have someone who told you that you were gorgeous when you felt invisible and different from everybody else? Someone who thinks you are amazing and capable of great things? So certain, that you surprise yourself and make their beliefs a reality? A best friend, kindred spirit and soul mate? For me – that person is my sister. I am so blessed to have had her in my life from birth to now. Tomorrow is her birthday and I just wanted to let her know how important she is to me – love you SEESTER!
Looking back, I feel so blessed – here’s to an amazing 2014 for all of us!
Thank you so much, friend! I wish we could meet in "real life". We both started blogging around the same time, and you are one of the only girls I still read daily. So many have come and gone (sadly). It's nice to still be passionate about what we blog about! I hope 2014 is just as wonderful 🙂
I REALLY hope we get to meet up someday soon 🙂 I can't believe we've been blogging so long – and I'm so glad that we're both still LOVING it – fingers crossed we'll feel this way for a LONG time 🙂
How do you turn your mini mac into a shoulder bag? I got mine for Christmas and can't figure it out.Love your blog btw, you're one of the few bloggers I log into blogger wishing for a post from.
Thanks so much Melissa – you're so sweet! Congrats on getting a mini MAC – I've used mine SO much this year – it really is a great bag 😉 Here are my directions for turning it into a shoulder bag – I will try update my Minkoff post with pics at some point as it's easier to show than describe! There are 2 sets of rings on the bag chain – circle ones attached to the bag, and u-shaped ones near the leather shoulder strap. Unclasp the hooks from the circle rings and feed the chain through the circles. Take the clasp and re-attach it onto the u-shaped ring. Now you should have doubled up chain straps on each side.Hope that makes sense 🙂
Ahhh you're sooo sweet!! I'm sooo happy you're in my life too Ella <3 Thank you for all the support and of course the sushi meet ups!
It's been a fun year – and I'm so glad I have you to turn to for guidance 😉
I love your 2013 recap! It looks like you had a great year and I'm sure 2014 will be even better. Since I started blogging, you and Noelle have been around the longest and I appreciate every comment you've ever left on my blog. Maybe one day we'll get to meet in real life 🙂
I definitely hope for a meet-up someday!!! Glad you enjoyed the recap – it's really nice to look back and see all the things I am grateful for 🙂
Looks like you had an amazing year! And I loved seeing Jenny from Crazy Style Love in your photo! You two gals are my favorite Canadians! Glad our blogging worlds have collided! Looking forward to seeing more of you in 2014!morepom.blogspot.com
Meeting Jenny was definitely a highlight from this year – she's as gracious, stylish and gorgeous in person as she is on her blog 🙂 I loved joining in your link-up with Gina – would have participated in all of them if I could have – thanks for hosting them!
Wow what a great year it has been for you- all of those events look like SO much fun and the trips, beautiful! I loooovee Myrtle Beach, SC, is that where you were? I'm so happy that we found each other through blogging now if only we could meet up in person- that would be amazing! I remember stumbling across your blog in the very beginning of my blogging days and like Noelle, said- you are one of the few that I still follow along with. This is exactly why I blog or why I keep on blogging- meeting such wonderful, inspirational, beautiful people like yourself. Thanks, Ella!
Yup – that pic was taken at Myrtle Beach – definitely want to head back there someday! And I totally agree – getting to know amazing & like-minded people is one of the best parts of blogging…and fingers crossed for a meet-up for us someday – a group one would be a dream come true. So happy we found each other through our blogs 🙂
Ah, I love these year-in-review posts! Looks like you had an amazing year with some incredible highlights. Congrats on sticking it out through blogging for so many years- it really is an impressive achievement that requires much more dedication than I could have imagined. Since starting blogging this year I have a new appreciation for those who've been doing it for many years. I hope your 2014 is just as exciting and I'm so glad to have crossed paths. 🙂 – GinaOn the Daily Express
Sorry Gina – I tried to approve your comment on my iPhone and ended up deleting it instead!!! So I copied and pasted it in ;-P It's true that blogging requires dedication – but since we write about what we enjoy, it's definitely worth making time for. I'm really glad to have 'met' you too…although my wallet may not thank me for my LONG Express wishlist because of your posts LOL!
