Goodbye 2010!

Happy New Year everyone! We’ve had a low-key evening, playing Wii with my sister and cousins. I love staying in with family on this night – it’s my favourite way to celebrate. I thought I’d share a few highlights from 2010 while I still have the chance!

Body Shop Vanilla Perfume Oil – I was inspired to try this after reading Lena’s blog. I use a crystal deodorant, which is odourless – so I apply this right after it, and smell sweet all day long. I can see that this bottle will last me ages, but I will definitely repurchase when I run out.

Brush Guard – I bought this in February after watching Michelle Phan’s review video (here). Since I have blemish-prone skin, I need to wash my brushes frequently. This makes the process so much easier – instead of spreading out a towel and angling my brushes to dry, I just put these guards on and put them upside down

overnight in a cup – most brushes are dry by the next morning. If some of the denser brushes are still damp, I take the brush guard off and leave the brush flat to dry. I love how the guards reshape the bristles so that your brush looks new after every wash. These are also great to use while travelling to protect your brush bristles and keep them clean.

Benefit Eyebright Pencil – I use this every day under my MAC concealer. I draw a line down the hollow of each eye, and pat concealer on top. The pink tone adds a subtle brightness to the area and makes me looks very well-rested – it’s an instrumental part of my make-up routine.

ELF studio eyeshadow “c” brush – I like applying a shimmering wash of colour to my lid – and this brush does the job perfectly. I prefer it to my MAC 129 (flat shader) and 252 brushes. The brush is large and can cover my lids quickly, while the bristles are soooo soft and apply colour so smoothly – I can’t believe it retails for only $3 (or $1.50 during their frequent sales!)

Sara Carbonero – I first saw Sara featured on gossip blogs after her boyfriend’s team won the World Cup. She’s a Spanish sports journalist – and is probably one of the most gorgeous celebs I’ve ever seen. She reminds me of Angelina Jolie and Aishwariya Rai (who are 2 of the most beautiful celebs in my opinion). I love her face, hair and style.

Mezghan Hussainy – Mezghan (Simon Cowell’s fiancee) – I love how well groomed and put-together she looks. She has a very classic and elegant dress sense.

What are your favourite beauty purchases from 2010? Do you have any favourite celebs from 2010?
