Time for Tea

My first memorable Tea experience was when I spent my Junior year abroad in London. A group of my Wellesley friends decided to meet up at a well-known hotel for Traditional Afternoon Tea. I was 19, and I remember how grown up I felt – living in a different country and taking part in something so elegant and fancy.

In my opinion, a Traditional Afternoon Tea is the perfect experience to share with girlfriends – you get to wear your prettiest tea dresses, lounge around on comfortable sofas and nibble on dainty and delicious snacks!

Fairmont Royal York Toronto Afternoon Tea Review

On the Sunday of our Ultimate Girls’ Weekend, Mandy, Jenelle, Eleni and I were invited to Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. The Fairmont has been offering Afternoon Tea since it first opened in 1929 – and it’s the perfect setting for a completely traditional experience!

Check out how majestic the lobby of the hotel is (in the pic above) – I felt as if we had been transported back in time! The tea is held in the Library Bar – it’s a very cozy and intimate venue.

Here is a sampling of the delicacies we enjoyed – all served on the prettiest fine china. For my drink, I chose English Breakfast Tea – and while it may seem like a common choice, it had so much more depth of flavour than the tea I make at home. You can have a peek at their menu here – I had informed the hotel about my dietary restrictions before arriving – and they were able to provide me with dairy-free options!

After your tea, you can take part in an exclusive tour of the hotel – it’s a great opportunity to explore the historical features of the hotel. The whole experience was the perfect way to end our Girl’s Weekend!

I still love that dress and trying to find it on H&M website.
Would you sell it if no longer wearing it?
