For the second installment of my Fall Essentials series, I HAD to feature a faux fur vest. When else but Fall do you get the chance to wear this fun layering piece? It keeps your core warm without feeling too bundled up. I purchased my vest at Express a couple of years ago (I styled it four ways in this post.) As it’s slightly bulky, I like to wear it with a slim fitting shirt – like this lightweight one from LOFT. I paired this with my faux leather leggings and Hunter boots – perfect for the brisk fall weather!
Although my exact vest is no longer in stores, there are a lot of cute and affordable options currently available – these 4 are all from Forever21… I’m especially loving the white one!

If faux fur is not your thing, you can still get in on the vest trend – try other options such as shearling, utility and quilted styles:
|quilted / utility / shearling / tweed|
And if it’s already coat weather where you live – you might want to check out this pretty pink coat I found at H&M – it’s under $50! Disclaimer though – I’m still trying to figure out if I should keep it myself – I love the color but I don’t know if the raised collar will work well with the scarves I love to wear!

Ending with a quick mirror pic of my outfit:

What is your favorite vest to wear in the fall – faux fur, quilted, utility or shearling?

You look gorgeous! I love the vest you are wearing! I need a new one. Remember the one I used to have? Well it's a complete mess now. I'm not sure what happened to it, but the faux fur is matted and looks almost moth-eaten. I'll have to take a look at Forever 21 :)And I think you should keep the pink coat. It's such a great shade, and seems to suit you quite well. Even if you can't wear your scarves with it, I still think it's worth keeping because it's so pretty!
Oh no – I remember how cute your vest was – it was Express too right? I think you'll definitely find a cute option at F21…I'm tempted to pick up another vest too 🙂
Love that coat! I debate on buying it everytime I go into H&M.
I don't blame you – it's SUCH a cute colour and style!
1- I love your lipstick in these pictures. What a beautiful shade. 2- I am debating whether to get a moto vest. I keep going back and forth about whether I'll really use it. 3- I love the way your fur vest outfit turned out! As far as the coat…eek It's beautiful but I know the collar would bother me too. I would say hang onto it with the tags on and keep looking to give yourself extra time to decide!Gina – On the Daily Express
Thanks Gina – I love orangey-red lipstick so much 🙂 I think you SHOULD get a moto vest, it sounds like a fun and edgy layering piece 🙂

Oh – I'll have to check out how you styled your vest – can't wait to see it!
Love the faux fur vest and how you styled it. I think I forgot about mine this year, apparently, since I've only worn my quilted ones. Time to dig up some oldies but goodies 🙂
I don't blame you for sticking to your quilted ones – they're super cute! Can't wait to see your faux fur vest outfits too 🙂
Oh great look… Its so warm and cutehttp://sarameirelesthesnowwhite.blogspot.pt
I love fauc fur vests – for me and the matching one for me daughter 🙂
That pink coat is a must-have. To make a raised collar work with scarves (even a Zara blanket one) I put that on first, then the coat, leaving the top button open (if necessary) so the scarf shows. Hope that helps. =)
Love that look. I've been wearing my fur vest weekly!xo, tashatwenty-something blog
