Have you shopped at Uniqlo lately? It’s a great place to find classic staples for your wardrobe. I featured their gorgeous camel coat on my blog last year – and am so excited to share this head-to-toe outfit from their Eaton Centre location in this post.

Ok…so on to my MAGICAL coat.
This Ultra Light Down Compact Coat is unlike any other coat in my collection. It can be worn in so many different ways. You can pair it with a thick sweater in milder weather OR you can use it as an internal layer to add insulation underneath a larger coat. I personally think it’s the best coat to use when you’re spending time at the mall. I always feel over-heated carrying around a regular winter coat – yet going coat-less is not an option (since you end up freezing as you make your way to the car). The down padding and windproof fabric in this coat is enough to keep out the chill – and it weighs practically nothing, so it’s easy to carry around when you’re not wearing it.
And the magic doesn’t stop there – the collar of this coat can be worn in two different ways! It’s a crew-neck, but has hidden snap buttons, so you can fold the collar down and transform it into a v-neck – which is what I did for these outfit pictures. If you scroll down to the end of this post – there is a close up comparison of the coat buttoned two ways. Also pictured is the duffle bag that comes with the coat – you can roll the coat up into a super tiny roll (it squishes down to the size of a coffee mug) and easily pack it away.
I paired the coat with this Lambswool Cowl Neck Sweater. Oversized chunky sweaters are especially popular this season – and I love how snuggly this one is. I opted for a medium size for a more relaxed fit. This sweater comes in all the classic colours – blue, white, black and grey – and would also look cute styled with a pleated midi skirt.
I was also gifted this pair of Extra Stretch distressed jeans. They are seriously so stretchy – they look like jeans but feel like leggings. I think they’d be great to wear while traveling – as they look tailored but feel very comfortable. They have a unique deconstructed hem – which looks pretty when paired with flats.
Here’s the graphic mentioned earlier in this post – showing how easy it is to transform my magic coat:
Thank you to Uniqlo for collaborating with me on this post and for letting me pick out this outfit!
LOVE that coat! I need one too – it packs up so small.www.nellecreations.com
