Cape or Coat?

Coat: c/o Sheinside / Sweater: Old Navy (similar) / Boots: Hunter / Bag: Minkoff

I’ve been looking for a Camel coat, so when Sheinside offered to let me pick some clothes from their site, I went for this cape/coat/trench coat hybrid. I love the color and fit of the coat, but the style will take some getting used to!

For starters, this coat looks best when it’s buttoned up…and secondly, it doesn’t really have sleeves, so it doesn’t work for VERY cold weather. On the plus side, you don’t have to worry about over-heating, since you can stick your arms out at any time!

If you’re looking for a cape coat, here are a couple of options:

1. Nasty Gal / 2. Sheinside / 3. Sheinside / 4. Romwe / 5. The Limited

Here’s the outfit pic I shared on Instagram:

Would you wear a cape/coat?

The cape coat is a great idea. I think it's ideal for spring and fall. I hate wearing a bulky coat when I'm driving so this would probably be a great option that would still keep you warm.

You're so right – this is good for when you need a bit of warmth but don't want to over-heat!

I think the cape coat has a very glam, sophisticated look to it! Love the way you styled it! I can definitely imagine how that particular style would take some getting used to!Gina – On the Daily Express

LOL – I'm usually someone who goes for more conventional outerwear – but I just loved the color and the trench-coat details on this cape too much – so I had to give it a try…and if by "getting used to" you mean my husband dying of laughter when he first saw me wear it…yup ;-P

Thanks Noelle! I think the details are very timeless – the color and tortoiseshell buttons and shoulder epaulets. Glad you like it 🙂

I don't think I've ever even tried on a plain cape…I should try one on soon 🙂
