How I Style My Hair

Just thought I’d do a quick post putting together all the different ways I like wearing my hair – along with the relevant tutorials.

My default hair style is down and parted to the side. Since I have fine, straight hair – this hardly requires any styling – just some Aveda Volumizing Tonic and Moroccan Oil.

My default everyday hairstyle

Another easy hairstyle is parted (either to the middle or the side) and pulled back:

I also like braiding the front of my hair and tying it to the side while leaving the rest free – this is my favorite way to wear my hair:

Braided and tied on the side

For special occasions, I blow-dry my roots and curl my hair (either using a flat iron or a Hot Tools curling iron – the ONLY curling iron that creates a lasting curl in my hair!)

Blow-dried and curled

I use a lot more products for this style. I start with a volumizing mousse before blow-drying, followed by a heat protectant spray before curling and a hair spray after.

On bad hair days, I either put my hair in a side braid, parted to the side in a ponytail or in a ballerina bun (If you’re doing a bun, you NEED to use spin pins!)…Funny how I don’t have many pictures of my hair in these styles…believe me – I looked!

– a vented brush is key. I’m using a Conair one – but this Brushlab one is on my wishlist.

I’m SO grateful for these amazing tutorials on youtube – they taught me all I know about doing my hair!

Yes – buns are amazing in the summer heat – no sticky hair on my neck!

Thanks for the links to those tutorials! Going to watch them all tonight. I am so useless with my hair – it's only ever up in a ponytail or down unstyled. Lol. My favourite look of yours is the second one, pulled back and sweeped to one side. I think it would look great with both casual and dressy outfits! 🙂

Hope you find the tutorials as useful as I did – youtube is SO amazing for learning new techniques – much better than TV or magazines.

You are so gorgeous and btw you strongly resemble Salma Hayek in the second photo. I've been using Moroccan oil too and I love it, doesn't it smell amazing?

Love the smell of Moroccan oil – and a little lasts a looooong time! Love Salma Hayek – I wish I resembled her LOL!

So great to see your pretty face! Love all the hairstyles on you, wish I could look so great with different ones. I've been wearing the side braid a lot lately, especially now that it's getting hotter outside.

Side braids are great – but since I have layers, it's so challenging to keep it from looking too wild – have to use lots of bobby pins!Along with outfit envy – I also have serious hair envy – your hair always looks so amazing and perfectly styled!

Thanks – you're so sweet! I wish I was better at styling my hair – but thanks to blogs and youtube, I'm definitely more adventurous than I used to be!

You have beautiful hair! I love the way you braid the front, I keep meaning to try SOMETHING different but my default hair always takes the lead. It's funny that I also wear my hair straight and parted slightly to the side. I'm really hopeless with my hair most of the time though – I want to curl it more, but it's hard for me! You look gorgeous all the time!

Thanks sweetie – braiding (or twisting) the front is super-easy – and I like it because my hair is down but not in my face. Was definitely inspired by Lauren Conrad's constant side braid LOL!

I love that you posted all of these looks – I need to branch out a little more with my hair. Your hair is gorgeous and a little off the subject – so are your brows! In the "braided on the side" photo they just look perfect!

I don't think you need to branch out with your hair – why mess with perfection 🙂 I love the color and waves and volume!I just leave my brows the way they are (no tweezing or filling in)…I'm glad I was too lazy to mess with them when I was younger – otherwise I'd have 2 very thin lines for brows now LOL!

You look great in all the hairstyles! I typically roll out of bed at the very last minute and hope for the best in the mornings, haha 😛 Of course I try harder when I have to look more put together – thanks for sharing all the styles!

Yes – I know the hope-for-the-best feeling only too well! Hair is always the last thing I do – make-up and clothes come first 🙂

my hair is a little bit shorter then yours and I had bangs, but they're so grown now so my fav way now is braiding them and tying to the side also 🙂
