Attending SPARK Sessions was a priceless experience – I left with the desire to make my blog the best that it can be. One thing I wanted to focus on was improving my blog photography…so I got out the “big boy” camera and went outside. Here are my tripod photos of some outfits from this week:
Plaid & Fur:
Plaid Shirt: Garage, Vest: Express, Jeans: Garage, Booties: Old Navy (mine, similar), Necklace: Banana Republic
Tweed Seperates:
Necklace: Joe Fresh (similar), Jacket: Forever21, Skirt: J.Crew Factory (similar from J.Crew), Shooties: Old Navy (similar from Target)
These photos are far from perfect…there was a lot of scurrying and looking anxiously over my shoulder and worrying what the neighbours would think. And today I managed to knock over the tripod WITH the camera – I’m hoping no permanent damage was done, but today’s photos turned out worryingly blurry – OOPS!
There will definitely continue to be a lot of mirror selfies on this blog (because SOMETHING is better than nothing, right?) but I will try to incorporate outdoor photos when I can!
Which do you prefer? Mirror selfies or outdoor outfit photos?
p.s. Do you like my new header?
p.p.s. Check out my sidebar – so excited that my blog has reached over 1 million pageviews – Thank you to EVERYONE who visits my site!
Congrats on reaching 1 million page views!! That is great! As far as outfit photos indoors or outdoors, it really makes no difference to me. Beautiful scenery is fun to look at, but I personally care more about the outfits so if I like the clothes, it doesn't really matter where the photo was taken. The Eiffel Tower can't save a bad outfit, you know? As long as the background isn't a messy room, I'm happy! I say do what you like and what works best for you. :)On the Daily Express
LOL – you're right, great scenery can't save a bad outfit! I know when I look at fashion blogs – I'd USUALLY rather focus on the outfit rather than the whole picture…even in magazines, I prefer In Style & Stylewatch rather than editorial pics like in Vogue. For me, I'm trying to introduce outside pics to show the details of my clothes better, but I prefer on keeping the background plain and hopefully not too distracting 🙂
Love the outfits Ella! The fur vest is amazing. It reminds me I have on and forgot about it haha. Yes, the new header looks great! I finally gave my blog a little face lift and the change is always nice.
Glad you like the new header – it's funny how changing a little thing can make the whole blog seem different – LOVE your blog face lift 🙂
