It’s been a hectic couple of weeks and I’ve spent a lot of time cooped up indoors – so I was more than ready for some alone time at the mall this weekend – and some much needed retail therapy. I only had a couple of hours to myself – but I was able to get a lot done.
First stop was H&M (which has ridiculous queues on the weekend – both for the dressing room and cashier). There was a pink-checked shirt I’d been eyeing for months – but never had the opportunity to try on. I had seen a similar one at J.Crew but I liked the H&M version better.
It would look better with a belt but I wasn’t wearing one today. It was $24.95 – and it came home with me.
I also purchased this crisp white button-down – it’s a classic and a steal at $24.95.
This pinkish-beige wrap also came home with me – I can never resist pinkish beige – it’s my favorite color! I’d wear it with a looser camisole: price: $34 or $39. Want to see what didn’t make the cut?
This lace top – although I love white cotton in the summer, I feel like the style made me look frumpy.
This sequined sweater – I was DESPERATELY searching for a top like this over winter break – it would have been so lovely for holiday parties. If they had this in my size (I tried on a medium but I’m usually a small) I would definitely have picked this up.
-I was in dire need of new bras, so I went to Victoria’s Secret – it’s a good thing I got measured there – I’m usually a 34B, but at VS I was a 32C. Everything looked MUCH better after I tried on the right size (I’m not sure if my bra size has changed or if VS sizes things differently than my regular lingerie retailer). This is the bra I got – now that I know my size and style, I’m going to wait for a good promo to pick up some more – at $50+ they’re pricey!
-The pink-beige purse was $4.95 at H&M, I’m going to use it for loyalty cards and gift cards (so my regular wallet doesn’t get too heavy).
-After seeing OPI’s Mod About You everywhere I looked (blogs and Youtube) I decided it was a sign that I needed my own bottle.
-The rest of the items are from Winners – OPI nailpolish remover ($9 instead of $20) OPI Femme de Cirque Minis ($7 instead of $16), hand scrub treatment with gloves and handbutter, Pedi-scrub foot sponges and heavy duty pedicure tools.
While I was out shopping, I kept running into this gorgeously stylish woman – she was wearing light pink skinnies, a camel sweater and a brown leather jacket – I was thisclose to taking a photo of her for my blog – or at least asking her where she bought her clothes – but I was so rushed I didn’t really have the time to stop and chat. Do you ever stop and ask people where they bought something?
By the way – don’t forget to enter my 200 follower giveaway here!!!
ooh great haul today! I have asked strangers where they got something before, yes. but its only when I'm in the mood, sometimes I'm shy.
I guess the situation has to be right – it's easier to ask people who are by themselves than in a group of friends! So far everyone I've asked has been super friendly and helpful – no cattiness 🙂
i really love the gingham and the sequin tops! so cute!bijou-minou.blogspot.com
Thanks – now I have to stalk that sweater until I find it in my size!
I love the sequin sweater and the pink wrap! Your blog is so cute =)xoxo,Suzie Q http://www.StyleCueBySuzieQ.com
Thanks – the pink wrap is super-comfy too!
That sequin sweater is SO pretty, too bad they didn't have a small! I love the pink and white plaid top, I've been searching for one of those too and the that crisp white top is such a great staple to have.
I was so sure the pink top would be gone – since I had last seen it at least a month back – luckily there were a lot in stock – in many sizes too 🙂
Great finds! I have that pink checkered shirt and love it. Too bad they didn't have the sequin top in small, it's very pretty.
I love it when we have twin clothes – because than it means I picked something good LOL – since you have the best taste!
I don't think you could EVER look frumpy! Great finds – I am so excited to visit H&M for the first time this upcoming weekend when I get to go visit the sister!
I'm so excited for your H&M visit – can't wait to see what you pick out!!!
I love everything you brought home with you! H&M usually is a hit for me too. I really love the checkered shirt. Perfect for the warm season!
I love H&M – the only sad thing was that I didn't see many pretty necklaces in stock – but I keep seeing them on blogs – I really need more of their necklaces 🙂
Great picks, Ella! I really like the lace top that didn't make the cute though. I think it looks really cute with that exact outfit! 😀
Thanks Lindsay! Usually I'm a sucker for lace tops – but the style of this reminded me too much of my post-pregnancy tops – I guess I have a hang-up about them LOL!
Love your new finds! You look amazing in everything.
Thanks Andi – you're such a sweetie for saying that 🙂
well you had a pretty good day at the mall! i love everything you got! im obsessed tho w the sparkly sweater! its bananas!!Im having a pretty cool giveaway right now, you should check it out if you havent already! xo Kelly
I love that checked shirt! Now I want one too ahahBTW, consider turning Captcha OFF on your blog. It's very hard to comment. Afraid of hate mail? Simply choose to approve your comments instead.
Hi Gaby, glad you liked the shirt! I didn't realize I had Captcha on my comments – I do approve all comments as it is – will investigate now – thanks for letting me know!
I decided to go through your blog and see what type boots you have….I'm in need! I just recently went to VS too and I've been buying 34c and the whole time I'm a 32d they said 34c is my "sister size" so if I can't find a 32d to buy a 34c. Hmm if I'm buying jeans and they have a 4 not a 2, I'm not buying them.
My boots are from old navy and have held up surprisingly well despite all I've put them through! I want a leather pair at some point but haven't found a comfy one in the style I like yet. I agree – I'd rather wait and get my correct size rather than the closest thing.
