Back from my Summer Holiday!

We just got back yesterday from a 10-day trip to Orlando, Florida.  The kids loved Disney World – we got a 4-day pass and went to the Magic Kingdom (twice), the Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We stayed at the Waldorf-Astoria – it was beautiful – we felt so pampered. The pool was gorgeous – we went swimming nearly every day.

On our non-Disney days, we drove to Daytona Beach and St. Augustine. I fell in love with St. Augustine – it’s a city rich with history and filled with beautiful Spanish architecture.

I didn’t spend too much time shopping – we went to 2 outlets (spent 4 hours there in total) – Target (I love shopping there, wish I had more time to look around and try clothes out) – and I popped in to Forever21 while we were waiting for a place at the Cheesecake Factory. I already showed my outlet items here. Here’s the rest of my vacation purchases:

Faux-leather jacket from F21 (on sale for $20 – it fits perfectly – can’t wait to wear it when the weather gets cooler)

Coach Poppy wristlet (got suckered in by the pink!)

Necklaces from F21 – have already worn 2 of them – and love them to bits!

Pendants from F21 and Target. The silver ones are actually a 2-part necklace – but I’m going to try separate them – and wear only the key pendant. The Target pendant is rose-gold plated silver. I love how delicate it is.

Okay – now that I’m done blogging – I better get back to unpacking!

Yay, so glad you had an awesome vacation! I know exactly the area you're talking about, I went to college in Orlando, then we moved back years later. I absolutely love it there! Isn't the Mall at Millenia one of the best malls ever?! So cool you stayed at the Waldorf, they were building it when we left the area.St. Augustine is one of my favorite places too, I love the history and charm there.Too bad we missed each other in Orlando, we will be there next week! How was Disney? We are only going to the Magic Kingdom, any tips for princess stalking in particular? lol

Yup – loved the Mall at Millenia – and the Waldorf is shiny and new…and I loved the option of going to the Hilton next door and using their lazy river pool – and then coming back to the empty Waldorf pool :-)Too bad our trips didn't coincide 🙂 I'm sure you'll have so much fun – especially since you know the area so well. My Disney tip – it is cliched – but the one morning we went to Magic Kingdom early – at opening – we got to go on all the rides – and some of them twice…so it is worth getting there early. My daughter is not yet into the Princesses – but we loved seeing all the little girls dolled up in the Bibidibobbidiboo boutique – will you take your kids there for a Princess make-over?

That's so cool you got to use the lazy river at The Hilton too, how perfect! How old are your kid(s)? My son is 2 and my daughter is 3.5, she just wants her picture taken with the princesses, that's what she said! Lol, pretty low maintenance. I was thinking about doing the salon thing, but may save that for when she's a bit older and when we have more time. We're only going up to O-town for 2 days out of our vacay. Great tip on the early arrival, so glad you got to enjoy the rides!

I have 3 year-old twins – a daughter and a son :-)I think if you got there early – you would be first in line to get a picture taken. Perhaps if you called the park the day before, and found out where the princesses are, you could head over there first.I was thinking the Princess-salon thing would be fun to do for a future birthday party – they just tie every girl's hair in a tight ballerina bun, put a tiara on and spray glitter in their hair – it's really cute! But they must use a lot of hairspray LOL!
