I’d seen Alex and Ani bracelets featured in magazines and worn by my favourite Youtubers, so I was super-excited to have been sent the Bamboo Beaded Bangle and Claddagh Charm Bangle. These bracelets are infused with positive energy – both in the way they are produced, and in the symbols inscribed on them. The Claddagh charm represents love, loyalty & friendship, while the Bamboo invokes strength and protection. I love meaningful jewelry and will definitely be wearing these bangles a lot – especially the bamboo one!
In other exciting news, I’ve been asked by Mapleview Centre to take over their instagram account and share my top back-to-school picks for Moms and Kids. My favorite finds were these 2 bags from Michael Kors – the Hamilton Traveler Cross-Body bag and the Selma Mini Messenger bag. They’re the perfect size for school-run essentials (wallet, sunglasses, phone & keys). I’m especially loving the new shape and smooth Vitelo leather of the Hamilton Traveler – if I didn’t already have my Pashli Mini, I’d be super-tempted to buy this instead!

I’ve been living in my GAP distressed boyfriend jeans this summer – they work well with all my favorites: lace, button downs, florals. I love how they add a bit of texture to simple outfits, although sometimes I wonder if I’m the wrong demographic to wear them – I’ve been “told off” by my parents AND my kids for wearing torn clothes!

These Camo pants are also from the GAP, but I have a harder time figuring out what to pair them with, as I don’t like them to look too casual.

Have you heard of Alex and Ani bracelets? Do you love the MK Hamilton Traveler bag as much as I do? And do people think you’re wearing torn clothes when you’re JUST trying to make a fashion statement, LOL?
DISCLAIMER: The Alex and Ani bracelets were sent to me.
P.S. I’ve entered Smart Set’s Denim Stylist contest – it would mean a LOT to me if you could click this link and vote for me 🙂 Extra incentive: each voter gets entered to win a $50 gift card from Smart Set!!!

Haha, I think people are starting to get used to distressed denim, although I did have one pair that my kids said, "those people didn't do a very good job sewing those pants" and "You need new jeans, those are ruined." They were more distressed than my usual and I don't think I wore them again after that! Anyway, the bracelets look great and I haven't heard of that brand before but I'll have to check it out. Love seeing your outfits as always!Gina – On the Daily Express
Good to know I'm not the only one whose jeans get commented on! I guess we're so used to seeing them on other bloggers online that they don't seem like such a big deal LOL!
You've been super busy, my dear, and fabulous all the same! Boyfriend jeans are the best – and a nice break from skinnies so keep rocking them. :)Sequins&Stilettos
Thanks lovely – this summer HAS been a super busy one…and it's just flown by! And yes, I'll be getting all the wear I can out of my boyfriend jeans before I have to turn back to my skinnies for colder weather (since they tuck into boots so easily LOL!)
I love all your outfits. They are so effortless and chic. Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks so much Sydney – hope you have a lovely long weekend too!
I love those shoes in the first few pics, and $19.99 is such a reasonable price. We have Target Country here in rural Australia and it is no. good. 🙁 I don't even think they have shoes at all, I don't remember seeing any there. In case I have not already left a comment, this is just a quick note to say hi. I visited your blog during the month of August and I liked what I saw, so I've added you to my feedreader and am following your blog. :)Cheers!Snoskred
Hi Snoskred! Thanks so much for adding me to your feedreader 🙂 It's a shame that your Target doesn't carry shoes – you're right – they're very reasonably priced – and they're so comfortable too – I have 2 pairs of heels from there and they're so easy to walk in 🙂 Hope they expand the selection at your Target!
I haven't heard of the brand, but they're beautiful and I'm glad you shared! I will keep my eye open! It's amazing and scary how much I love distressed denim nowadays! I've been told "oh, so you're one of those people that pay for messed up jeans!" Yep, that would be me!I think if you think of your camo pants as more of just a solid olive colored chino – they will be more versatile than you think! And easy to dress up, too!Carylee | morepiecesofme.com
Those bracelets are so cute! I love your arm candy. I also am loving your denim looks these days! I only have one pair but I want more. There's something about them that I find so chic! Especially paired with classic pieces.
